cities have buildings that are recognized as local landmarks. These
structures have been around for decades and are common points of reference
on city maps.
This eight level building, situated at the entry to the
viaduct basin, is well known to many Aucklanders. Previously home to a
number of organizations including an oil company and a radio station, the
renamed Microsoft House is also highly visible from some of the city's major

Thames district council, on deciding to build a new library, ran a
competition to find the most suitable design. Plans were on view in the
council chambers and members of the pubic were invited to give their ideas. The contract, awarded for the design and construction of the
Thames District Library, as a joint venture between Argon Construction Ltd

construction of the exciting New Zealand Pavilion at Expo '92 in
Seville, Spain. Construction of the New Zealand Pavilion was achieved using an
entirely New Zealand workforce and materials imported from New Zealand,
Australia and the United Kingdom. |

Argon Construction Ltd negotiated contracts with KFC (NZ)
Ltd to carry out a refurbishment and modernization program for 30 of their
fast food outlets situated all over New Zealand from Orewa to Invercargill.
The time period for the work was 16 months. The quality and finish of Argons' work was such that KFC staff were able
to start cooking within three hours of moving back into the refurbished
